Easter Sunday!

Whazzzup fam!
This week was super eventful! First of off, we had transfer day and my new comps name is Elder Smith. He is from Georgia and is actually half Chinese! Everyone here thinks he is a Filipino though which has been super funny! We have been getting along super well, he played Ultimate Frisbee in college which is pretty cool!

So one thing that I learned this week is that Filipinos celebrate Holy Week like crazy!! There were some people that would be whipping their own backs with a long cattail whip until their backs would be bleeding like crazy. They basically crucify themselves, it is kinda messed up tbh! Haha I think they are a little bit confused on what the Atonement is! Christ went through all of that so that we don't have to! I'm just grateful to be in the true church haha!

This Sunday at church, we had a super cool new investigator come! His name is Isias Sante. He came with his wife and little son. I am pretty sure he had a really positive experience! We went back and taught him yesterday morning and he was like tearing up the whole time as we taught him about the Plan of Salvation. He accepted a baptism date, and we will be working towards that over the next few weeks!

On Monday, I had a new experience that I haven't had yet here in Caloocan! Which isn't saying too much, because I see random stuff on the daily here haha. Anyway, I WAS IN AN EARTHQUAKE:) It was soooo cool! We were walking to one of our appointments and then all the sudden everything started shaking. I was confused at first, but then all the power lines and cars started wobbling all over the place! I was like "Yoooo Elder Smith we're in an Earthquake!!" Haha I didn't feel in danger at all, and it stopped after about a min. I think it was like a 6.1 at the epicenter, but a 5.4 where we were at. There wasn't any damage and I only saw 3 people die that day... spiritually. Haha they just weren't progressing so we had to drop them.

Today we got to have a temple p-day! It was my first time going back to the temple since I have been in the field. It was fun to see the MTC again and remember some of the good times we had there! I had a super cool experience in the Temple, but I'll just say it simple. GO TO THE TEMPLE:) I was bobo to not go very often when it was so close to us back home. You can feel so close to Christ while inside, or outside the temple. It really is the House of God and I am grateful we got to do that today!

Anyway love you all! Manatiling masaya!

Graden's pics wouldn't send so I pulled out one from last year in honor of the Jazz. :)
Love when missionary moms share pics! Thank you Tina!! Elder Holman and Reber had a great walk down memory lane as they got to go to the temple and see the MTC where it all began.
