So the highlight of this week was probably our district service project in San Miguel! That is the furthest area in our mission, so we got to see some beautiful places on the way there! We just help a member move😄 That sounds pretty normal right? Well it was everything but that... Because we legit moved their ENTIRE HOUSE!😂 We put bamboo poles under it and lifted it up and moved it to a new area. Holy crap was it heavy! I'll send videos so you understand:)
The members were very grateful for our help so they fed us lunch after:) They actually killed their goat and fed it to us😂 Basically, it was a weird adventure!
We had a ton of lessons this week! One of my favorite ones was on Wednesday night though. It was dark so we ended up shining our flashlight on us so they could see the pictures. That attracted a lot of people over to listen for some reason. At the end, we were teaching probably 20 plus people!! It was an awesome feeling to be testifying of the BOM to a crowd:)
Yesterday we had a good eye opening experience. We were walking fast to an appointment we were a little late for, when a guy smoking said in broken English "Hey.. ummm I am ahhh Mormon!" We kept walking because guys say stuff like that pretty often. For some reason I felt like we should talk to him like 20 steps after we passed him. But we kept walking bcwe were late for our set appointment. He ended up getting on his motorcycle though and followed us. Thank goodness he acted on his prompting to talk to us even though we carelessly kept walking...
Turns out he actually is a member. He hasn't been to church in 15 years and has made some poor decisions since he left. His family was all baptized in the past, but now he has made some poor decisions in his life.I told him the story of Peter when he was walking on the water to Christ. How when the storms came he doubted for a second and began to sink. He had to take an act of faith to reach out to take Christs hand. I asked him if he was walking on top of the water with full faith, or if he was sinking a little bit. He was like "Hmmm I still have faith, so probably on top of the water." I was like Brooo not even close this guy is drowning to death for the last 15 years hahaha. That was in my head tho... I just told him Faith without works is dead and told him he needs to repent and come back to church with his family. He committed to come next week so we'll see if he does!
I learned something cool at our Stake Conference this week! It was Baliwags first stake conference ever which was pretty cool. President Sison said something cool about sins. He explained how their are two types of sins:
1.Sins of Commission - Coming from the root word commit. These are sins that you know are wrong, but still do them anyway.
2.Sins of Omission - Coming from the root word omit. This is the part I liked:) These are sins that come from when you know the right things that you SHOULD be doing, but you don't do them.
I know that we all know the things we should be doing in our lives. Try to pick one Christlike attribute that you should have, and then make that change:)
