Quote of the week: "Stop focusing on how stressed you are, and start focusing on how blessed you are."
This week was full of fun! We had a lot of different highlights! Here's a few of them...
1) Rosalyn Galvez (Charlie's mom), Pauline Gungob (Dona's Sister) and Trisha Pamintuan (Charlie's friend) all got baptized on Saturday! All 3 of them gave amazing testimonies which is one of my favorite parts of being a missionary:)
2) We had a super fun youth activity this week called Olympikada! It is a mix between Olympics + Barkada. Barkada basically just means a friend group. We had a ton of fun helping all of our youth investigators bond with the members and leaders. They were all assigned to different teams and will have a league of games over the next couple months. It is probably one of the most impressive activities I have seen a ward pull off my entire mission!
3) We continue to fill our chapel to its capacity! We had 28 investigators at church this Sunday which is once again the most I have ever seen! This transfer has been miracle after miracle... 17, 18, 24, 27, 28😂😍 It has helped me gain a stronger testimony of Jacob 5:7
"And it came to pass that the servants did go and labor with their mights; and the Lord of the vineyard labored also with them; and they did obey the commandments of the Lord of the vineyard in all things."
4) We went hiking for a District activity:) That's part of the reason I couldn't video call... But Google services also haven't been working on our phones lately. Basta, the hike was pretty dope! It was to a place called Malangaan Caves. You can look it up if you want. I was the one that planned it all because I really wanted get out on an adventure!
5) We had the coolest lesson tonight!! So we have been teaching 2 kids right across from the church for a few weeks now. Their names are Jex (16) and Francis (14). They both love the church activities and really want to be baptized. The problem is, their parents don't want them to switch religions. We ended up teaching a bold lesson with Rowell and Jormay (The young men leaders). We each shared our stories of how we we converted to the church. Each of us had similarities, but brought a different aspect of testimony to the lesson. By the end of it, Jex's mom was crying and said she would talk to her husband about it. Jex and Francis both said strong prayers at the beginning and end of the lesson to show the growth they have made. It was a really cool experience...SHARE YOUR TESTIMONIES!
6) I got emotional on Saturday watching Charlie baptize his mom. He has grown so much and continues to be a better missionary than I'll ever be. I'll send a picture of him driving their family trike with all of his family, friends, and cousins. It will make you all super happy❤️
Life is better in the Philippines.
